Patent number 102018000008781 – Sliding baffles for ceilings have been properly conceived for frequent and quick plenum access. Generally used together with Baffle Standard Series, the sliding ones can be moved along their special carrier, creating wide empty spaces; a great option which simplifies the plant maintenance operations.

Available in several dimensions, colours, and surface finishing, IFC Slinding Baffle can be realised with the same material and finishing as the Baffle Series that’s to create a fully integrated metal ceiling system. Therefore, sliding baffles for metal ceilings include the following models with an open gap and variable distance: 30×64 | 30×100 | 30×150 | 30×200 | 30×300 | 40×100 | 40×140 | 40×180 | 50×100 | 50×150 | 50×200 | 50×300 models. Other dimensions up to 400 mm can be realised on request, and for all models the baffle maximum length is 4000 mm.

A special TS sliding carrier equipped with movable hooking brackets makes baffles easy to place at the right position and simple to move when necessary. Brackets are conceived to be laid in the custom-made pitches carrier clews, which makes the installation fast, and then the removable safety springs are to be inserted in the sliding brackets’ holes to lock the elements. For anti-seismic safety, also, the metal ceiling with sliding baffles can be reinforced with special anti-seismic kits which dissipate the seismic energy and prevent the baffles from falling. On request for each project, IFC can provide a specific anti-seismic report concerning models and incidences of hangers and antisemitic kits.

As with all metal baffles, the surface can be totally smooth or perforated with seven perforation patterns and three perforation modes, that means full perforated covering, perforation only on lateral sides or on the lower one. So, combined with Baffle Series, the metal ceiling with sliding baffles represents the right choice to realise high-performance acoustic systems with linear appeal. Coupled with specific sound absorption pads such as black fleece, mineral soft padding or rock-wool insulation, the perforated baffles play an important role in sound control, improving reverberation time and speech intelligibility.

Cared for in every detail, sliding baffles for metal ceilings can be equipped with closing caps, alignment clips, continuity joints and special profiles to connect different plenum heights. Usually requested in white or silver pre-painted steel and aluminium, sliding baffles for ceilings can be produced in RAL/NCS colours, in wood finishing, in sublimated and digitally printed materials: the most appealing effect for the most daring project. Appreciated for their design, safety and acoustic performance, metal ceilings with sliding baffles are therefore used in airports, malls and industries where frequent plenum access for plant maintenance operations are required.
